There are definitely some unique, chic and antique nic-nacs you can get at second hand stores that you can't get anywhere else. Yes....that's right, all the "eeek" words all in one store! Also, the best part about second hand is that the things you can buy range from clothes all the way to second hand refrigerators (although your probably shouldn't buy those...they may leak all over the floor since their old and.....yeah) Don't spend your life buying new designer goods...be creative! Live SECOND HAND!

Places To Go:

ShaMen Chie/ Guting MRT------>One good place to buy cheap things in Taipei is shamen chie near kuting or Guting Mrt station green line to Hsintien or Xin Tien. There are hundreds of second hand stores and you can buy anything from second hand furniture to old computers televisions refrigerator there are some antiquities too. The only problem might be the customs office at the airport need to check the law first before buying.

One tip always negotiate the price and don't cross the street.


Kuanghua Market (Computers and Parts, CDs, Curios)-------->This market is a mixture of the old and the new, selling computers and parts, software, electronic games and gadgets, CDs, and second-hand books. The selection is vast and the prices are competitive. This is also a place to shop for the greatest variety of antiques, reproductions, and curios at reasonable prices.
